Is Kanata a good place to live?
Kanata combines established residential communities, a technology employment area, schools and public recreation facilities in Ottawa’s west end. Whether it suits you depends on the address, your school requirements and the journeys you make; compare the six community guides and check an actual trip before deciding.

Which Kanata neighbourhood is right for me?
Beaverbrook offers an early planned-community setting, Kanata Lakes includes communities around the golf course and Beaver Pond, and Morgan’s Grant lies north of the technology business park. South of Highway 417, compare Katimavik-Hazeldean, Glen Cairn and Bridlewood by school eligibility, nearby services and your own travel needs.

How far is Kanata from downtown Ottawa?
Published geographic descriptions place Kanata about 22 kilometres west-southwest of downtown Ottawa. That is an area-level orientation, not a measured driving distance from a particular home; the route and travel time depend on both endpoints and traffic.

Does the O-Train go to Kanata?
OC Transpo’s west extension goes to Algonquin on Line 1 and Moodie on Line 3, not into the Kanata neighbourhoods covered here. Terry Fox and Eagleson are bus stations; do not interpret the west extension as a confirmed opening of rail service in Kanata.
